Blackie is my white cat’s name, and during winter she looks more like as snowman than a cat. The season’s lethargic mood has always gotten her plumb. This coming spring, I think I will have her on the work out overtime. But how am I going to do that? It’s not like there is an Air Climber for cats, even a treadmill.

I would also doubt that Blackie would want to get her paws inside a hamster wheel. Maybe I’ll make up a fenced space in the backyard and have her chase rubber mice. Now, that’s definitely a great idea that everyone with a cat should implement.

Should I get Glass or Acrylic?
This is a question bounced around by a lot of aquarium enthusiasts’. While I have a standard glass rectangular tank. I have also had an acrylic tank at one time. My glass tank is nice, but it is very heavy, also if algae builds on the glass, it is very hard to remove. Acrylic tanks are nice but usually a bit more expensive. The Rectangular Aquariums have a very nice selection of aquariums available and also some very cool designs that are just possible for glass aquariums. If you got the money, I’d suggest an acrylic tank.

Pros and Cons Of Crate Training your Dog

The effectiveness of crate training your dog in terms of safety and health are still under debate. Crate training is a method in which a dog is confined in a pet cage that has just enough room to accommodate the dog, for a particular period of time.

Some claim that the pet cage provides a sense of belonging, an exclusive ‘property’ that the dog can claim as its own, a place where he feels safe and surrounded by familiar objects and smell.

Those in favor of this method also claim that crate training aids potty training, as the dogs tend to keep their place clean and take initiative to ‘hold it’ until they are taken outside.

The Boxer dog was first introduced in Germany. They are a medium sized, stocky, short haired breed. They have a smooth coat and come in brindle or fawn sometime with markings, and sometimes without markings. They have very strong jaws, a powerful bite, and a square muzzle. Most believe that the boxer breed originated from breeding the English bulldog with the extinct Bullenbeisser, which is part of the Molosser dog breed group. The boxer first appeared in the dog show ring in Munich, Germany in 1885. Over the years the boxer has become one of the most popular dog breeds. The AKC ranks it as the 6th most popular breed in 2009.

Is your Dog Barking Annoying?

January 302010

Posted in pets | No Comments »

You love your pet dog but his barking can still be an irritation, can’t it? He barks when you go out, he barks when you come in, he barks when the mail comes or when anyone passes the house. My dog barked when the phone rang, which made it very difficult to have a conversation with someone when they called! I felt helpless to do anything about it because nothing I tried seemed to work.

After some research, however, I found some tried and tested ways to stop dog barking. Imagine how that would feel. As you leave and come back to your house, your dog greets you quietly and calmly and you hardly know the mailman has been! When you take him for a walk, he walks quietly past people and dogs.
